SENATOR THOMAS, sponsor of SB 263, said the CS has two minor changes. It allows appointment of a petroleum or chemical engineer if a mining engineer isn't available to serve. Section 2 exempts who designed fire detection or suppression systems from AS 08.48 if they are authorized to design fire detection or suppression systems by the Alaska Department of Public Safety, the entity that will register them now.
