SENATOR TAYLOR brought SB 213 (APUC EXTENSION AND REGULATORY COST CHARGE) before the committee. He noted the committee had a previous hearing on the bill and that a committee substitute had been drafted as a result of that hearing. KEVIN SULLIVAN, staff to the Senate Judiciary Committee, explained the committee substitute contains effective dates in Sections 17 and 18. Section 1 will go into effect July 1, 1995 and the rest of the bill will go into effect July 1, 1994. Language was also added in Section 9, subsection (k) on page 4 of the committee substitute, which includes cable television under the regulation of the APUC. They are automatically covered and may opt out if they meet the qualifications already established in statute.
