Senator Green explained that language had been added to the bill in the Senate Judiciary Committee for the movement of the long term care ombudsman. In looking more deeply at that change, there is concern about that language. The Ombudsman Office has requested that the change be reversed. Co-Chair Torgerson WITHDREW his OBJECTION to adoption of the amendment. There being NO further OBJECTION, Amendment KAY BURROWS, Director, Division of Senior Services, Department of Administration, Anchorage, testified via teleconference from Anchorage. She offered to answer questions of the Committee and voiced her support of the bill. ALLISON ELGEE, Deputy Commissioner, Department of Administration, advised that the Department supported the legislation. Senator Wilken MOVED to report SB 57 out of Committee with individual recommendations and with the accompanying fiscal note. There being NO OBJECTION, it was so ordered.
