SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 19 Establishing the Blue Ribbon Commission on Gaming and Gambling and relating to commission recommendations regarding gaming and gambling in the state. Co-chairman Halford directed that SCR 19 be brought on for discussion. He explained that it would create a 9-member, blue ribbon commission on gaming consisting of: Three members appointed by the Governor Three members appointed by the Senate President Three members appointed by the Speaker of the House The commission would terminate January 15, 1996. It has authority to expend funds, subject to approval of the Legislative Council. Co-chairman Halford called for testimony on the bill. None was forthcoming. Senator Randy Phillips MOVED that SCR 19 pass from committee with individual recommendations. No objection having been raised, SCR 19 was REPORTED OUT of committee. Co-chairman Halford signed the committee report with a "do pass" recommendation. Senators Phillips, Rieger, Sharp, and Zharoff signed "no recommendation." (Staff was subsequently directed to obtain a fiscal note from the Legislative Affairs Agency. A note totaling $87.0 was received 5-1-95)
