SCR 13 100TH YEAR OF WOMEN IN STATE LEGISLATURES  CHAIRMAN TORGERSON called the Senate Community & Regional Affairs Committee meeting to order at 3:00 p.m. SENATOR TORGERSON brought SCR 13 before the committee and noted there was a proposed committee substitute, which makes two minor technical changes, as well as an amendment he was proposing which would clarify some of the language in the legislation. SENATOR KELLY moved adoption of CSSCR 13(CRA) and the following amendment to the committee substitute: Amendment NO. 1 Page 1, lines 8 - 9: Delete "before American women even had the universal right to vote," Page 1, line 9: Following "state legislators" insert ",before American women even had the universal right to vote" Page 4, lines 17 - 18: Delete "served diligently and enthusiastically and have devoted most of their lives to their communities and to Alaska" Hearing no objection, SENATOR TORGERSON stated the motion carried. He then asked for the pleasure of the committee. SENATOR ZHAROFF moved that CSSCR 13(RES) be moved out of committee with individual recommendations. Hearing no objection, it was so ordered.
