HB 87-CITIZEN ADVISORY COMM ON FEDERAL AREAS 5:16:13 PM CHAIR COGHILL announced that the only order of business would be HOUSE BILL NO. 87, "An Act reestablishing the Citizens' Advisory Commission on Federal Management Areas in Alaska; and providing for an effective date." [Before the committee was CSHB 87(FIN).] 5:16:32 PM SUE STANCLIFF, Staff to Representative Mike Kelly, Alaska State Legislature, speaking on behalf of the sponsor, Representative Kelly, explained that the only change [from CSHB 87(RES)] to CSHB 87(FIN) was moving the office of the [Citizens' Advisory Commission on Federal Management Areas in Alaska] to the Department of Natural Resources (DNR). Therefore, DNR was to produce a fiscal note. The legislation, CSHB 87(RES), was reported out of the House Finance Committee with the fiscal note pending. The fiscal note incorrectly stated that this office would be placed in Anchorage rather than Fairbanks. Therefore, a revised fiscal note from DNR was requested [and is before this committee]. 5:17:45 PM REPRESENTATIVE HARRIS moved to accept the revised fiscal note from the Department of Natural Resources dated 4/12/07, which reflects the fact that the office of the Citizens' Advisory Commission on Federal Management Areas in Alaska would be located in Fairbanks. There being no objection, the aforementioned fiscal note was attached to CSHB 87(FIN) as it moves forward. Therefore, CSHB 87(FIN) is available for calendaring.
