There being no objection, Version I was before the committee. REPRESENTATIVE KERTTULA related her understanding that this legislation would apply to more than just a natural disaster. LEONA OBERTS, Staff to Representative Mike Chenault, Alaska State Legislature, presented HB 209 on behalf of the sponsor. In response to Representative Kerttula, Ms. Oberts indicated that this legislation would apply to a man-made [disaster] such as pipes flooding a basement. In further response to Representative Kerttula, Ms. Oberts confirmed that this legislation would only refer to a reduction in municipal taxes.
