SB 160 - MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP LOANS CHAIR TOOHEY stated that SB 160 had been discussed in subcommittee. She then asked the pleasure of the committee. REP. VEZEY indicated that there was a subcommittee report. CHAIR TOOHEY asked Rep. Vezey to inform the committee of the subcommittee recommendations. Number 047 REP. VEZEY said he still has concerns regarding how the Department of Administration (DOA) is handling the funds involved. He indicated that although his concerns are not related to the substance of the legislation, he would pursue further investigation of the matter with the DOA because he felt that perhaps the state is participating in tax fraud. He reiterated that his concerns are unrelated to the intent of the bill. Number 076 CHAIR TOOHEY asked if the committee would like to accept the recommendations of the subcommittee. REP. BUNDE made a motion to accept the recommendation of the subcommittee report and to pass SB 160 out committee. CHAIR TOOHEY asked the pleasure of the committee. REP. KOTT asked for a written subcommittee report. He then withdrew the request. CHAIR TOOHEY announced that SB 160 passed out of committee with attached fiscal note.
