HB 202-RESIDENTIAL SPRINKLER SYSTEMS  8:04:20 AM CO-CHAIR HERRON announced that the only order of business would be HOUSE BILL NO. 202, "An Act relating to state and municipal building code requirements for fire sprinkler systems in certain residential buildings." 8:05:05 AM CO-CHAIR MUNOZ moved to adopt CSHB 202, Version 26-LS0776\E, Cook, 3/18/10, as the working document. REPRESENTATIVE GARDNER objected for discussion purposes. 8:05:30 AM CO-CHAIR HERRON explained that Version E doesn't include the cost-benefit analysis language. 8:06:32 AM REPRESENTATIVE GARDNER withdrew her objection. There being no further objection, Version E was before the committee. 8:06:35 AM CO-CHAIR HERRON moved Amendment 1, labeled 26-LS0776\E.1, Cook, 3/22/10, which read as follows: Page 2, lines 14 - 17: Delete all material. Insert "ordinance amendment to be held within a period of not less than 60 days and not more than 180 days." REPRESENTATIVE HARRIS objected. 8:06:54 AM CO-CHAIR HERRON explained that the various stakeholders, including the Alaska Municipal League, the Alaska Homebuilder's Association, the Alaska Fire Chiefs Association, and the Alaska Realtors Association, would like to extend the public process so that that the requirement to hold three meetings can occur between 60 and 180 days. 8:07:07 AM REPRESENTATIVE HARRIS withdrew his objection. 8:07:11 AM There being no further objection, Amendment 1 was adopted. 8:07:25 AM CO-CHAIR MUNOZ moved to report CSHB 202, Version 26-LS0776\E, Cook, 3/18/10, as amended, out of committee with individual recommendations and the accompanying zero fiscal note.
