SENATE BILL NO. 204 "An Act relating to the issuance of certificates of fitness for plumbers and electricians; relating to fees for certificates of fitness for plumbers and electricians; and providing for an effective date." 1:49:56 PM KEN ALPER, STAFF, SENATOR DONNY OLSON, explained the bill. He stated that the legislation was primarily an inflation adjustment, and there were no changes in the committee. 1:50:23 PM SCOTT DAMEROW, CHIEF OF MECHANICAL INSPECTION, DEPARTMENT OF LABOR AND WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT, ANCHORAGE (via teleconference), stated that he was in supportive of the bill. He remarked that the bill would help all electrician and plumber apprentices, by removing unnecessary administrative hurdles. Co-Chair Olson wondered whether he agreed with the change from four to six years. Mr. Damerow agreed. Senator Bishop thanked the commissioner of the Department of Labor and Workforce Development (DLWD). Senator Bishop MOVED to REPORT SB 204 from committee with individual recommendations, and attached fiscal note. There being NO OBJECTION it was so ordered.
