HB 374-NAMING DOUTHIT VETERANS' MEMORIAL BRIDGE CHAIRMAN JOHN COWDERY called the Senate Transportation Committee meeting to order at 1:36 p.m. and announced HB 374 to be up for consideration. REPRESENTATIVE KEN LANCASTER, sponsor of HB 374, said the designated bridge spans the Kenai River at Soldotna. Sergeant David Douthit is the only Alaskan to give his life during the 1991 Gulf War. SENTOR WARD moved to pass HB 374 out of committee with individual recommendations. There were no objections and it was so ordered.
