 CHAIRMAN RIEGER called the Senate Transportation meeting to order             
 at 1:35 p.m.  He introduced the committee members to the staff and            
 inquired as to any topics committee members were interested in                
 bringing up in the current or following session.                              
                                                                               
 CHAIRMAN RIEGER stated his desire to review the Alaska Railroad and           
 introduce a committee bill if there was no objection.                         
                                                                               
 SENATOR ADAMS encouraged committee members to read the Audit                  
 reports pertaining to the Alaska Railroad.  He expressed the need             
 for copies of legal opinions and fiscal notes to be present in                
 committee packets in order to better move the legislation.

 CHAIRMAN RIEGER explained that he would try to get packets to                 
 committee members the day before the meeting with pertinent fiscal            
 notes.  He indicated that usually legal opinions were not                     
 requested, but any legal opinion brought forth would be distributed           
 to the committee members.  A committee schedule will be announced             
 next Thursday.
