ACTION NARRATIVE TAPE 97-2, SIDE A SB 10 MOUNTAIN VIEW ROAD - GUSTAVUS Number 001 CHAIRMAN WARD called the Senate Transportation Committee meeting to order at 1:30 p.m. and introduced SB 10 as the first order of business. SENATOR MACKIE , Prime Sponsor of SB 10, informed the committee that this bill was introduced upon request of the students of Gustavus. The bill is a school project, that has a zero fiscal note. The bill passed the House last year and the Senate did not have time to get to it before adjourning. He urged the committee's consideration of SB 10. SENATOR GREEN noted that the statute said that roads constructed by the state or the department needs statutory approval. This road obviously falls into this category. SENATOR MACKIE stated that the statutory requirement was the only reason the bill was before the committee. There has been no opposition to the bill. SENATOR GREEN moved to report SB 10 out of committee with individual recommendations and attached fiscal notes. Without objection, it was so ordered. SB 46 NEW FERRY NAMED M.V. KENNICOTT CHAIRMAN WARD asked if anyone was present to testify on SB 46. Hearing none, he inquired as to the pleasure of the committee. SENATOR WILKEN moved to report SB 46 out of committee with individual recommendations and attached fiscal notes. Without objection, it was so ordered. There being no further business before the committee, the meeting was adjourned at 1:35 p.m.
