Number 001
The Senate Rules Committee was called to order by Chairman
Jacko at 12:18 p.m.
CHAIRMAN JACKO introduced SB 82 (OPENING THE DALTON HIGHWAY)
as the first order of business.
SENATOR RIEGER moved and asked unanimous consent that SB 82
be approved for calendaring at the Chair's discretion.
SENATOR LITTLE objected, stating that she had several
concerns with the legislation, such as the fiscal note,
problems with trash along the highway, local communities not
being in favor of the bill, etc. The roll was taken with
the following result: Senators Rieger, Halford and Jacko
voted "Yea" and Senator Little voted "Nay." The Chair
stated the motion had carried.
CHAIRMAN JACKO introduced SB 84 (REVOKE DRIVER'S LICENSE IF
USE FALSE I.D.) as the next order of business.
SENATOR LITTLE moved that on page 6, line 14, change the fee
from $5 to $15. She said that would make the fee for a
duplicate of a driver's license or instruction permit the
same as the original driver's license fee. SENATOR HALFORD
objected. The roll was taken with the following result:
Senator Little voted "Yea" and Senators Rieger, Halford and
Jacko voted "Nay."
SENATOR HALFORD moved and asked unanimous consent that SB 84
be approved for calendaring at the Chair's discretion.
Hearing no objection, it was so ordered.
CHAIRMAN JACKO introduced SB 122 (EMPLOYER'S LIABILITY FOR
REFERENCE INFO) as the next order of business.
SENATOR HALFORD moved and asked unanimous consent that SB
122 be approved for calendaring at the Chair's discretion.
SENATOR LITTLE objected, stating she didn't think the
legislation was necessary. The roll was taken with the
following result: Senators Rieger, Halford and Jacko voted
"Yea" and Senator Little voted "Nay." The Chair stated the
motion had carried.
CHAIRMAN JACKO introduced SB 154 (ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT GRANT
FUND) as the final order of business.
SENATOR HALFORD moved and asked unanimous consent that SB
154 be approved for calendaring at the Chair's discretion.
Hearing no objection, it was so ordered.
There being no further business to come before the
committee, the meeting was adjourned at 12:25 p.m.
