CHAIRMAN ROBIN TAYLOR called the Judiciary Committee meeting to
order at 1:38 and announced SB 69 as the only order of business.
SB 69-ADVISORY VOTE ON ELECTED AG
MR. MARK HODGINS, staff to SENATOR JERRY WARD, stated the sponsor
prefers to pass the bill as is, not change it into a resolution.
Number 020
SENATOR DONLEY moved a conceptual amendment to add a contingent
effective date that would make the bill take effect if the
Legislature fails to place a constitutional amendment to elect the
attorney general on the ballot in the next general election.
Without objection, the conceptual amendment was adopted.
SENATOR DONLEY moved CSSB 69(JUD) from committee with individual
recommendations. Without objection CSSB 69(JUD) moved from
committee.
With no further business to come before the committee, CHAIRMAN
TAYLOR adjourned at 1:41.
