HB 35 SEXUAL MISCONDUCT BY MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL

CHAIRMAN GREEN called the Senate Health, Education and Social
Services (HESS) Committee to order at 1:01 p.m. and introduced
HB 35 as the only order of business before the committee.
SENATOR LEMAN said that he liked HB 35. HB 35 would provide
another tool for the Medical Board to use in sexual misconduct
cases. He proposed an amendment, Amendment 1. Amendment 1 on page
2, lines 28 and 29: delete " or a person in an equivalent domestic
relationship with the licensee; " which would provide further
restrictions on the doctors. Senator Leman moved that Amendment 1
be adopted. Hearing no objection, it was so ordered.
SENATOR MILLER moved that SCS CSHB 35(JUD) be moved out of
committee with individual recommendations. Hearing no objection,
it was so ordered.
There being no further business before the committee, the meeting
adjourned at 1:04 p.m.
