ACTION NARRATIVE
TAPE 04-1, SIDE A
CHAIR GENE THERRIAULT called the Senate Committee on Committees
meeting to order at 11:30 a.m. All members were present. Chair
Therriault told members the purpose of the meeting was to
consider changes to the committee structure to incorporate the
Senate's newest member, Senator Burt Stedman.
CHAIR THERRIAULT presented his recommendations as follows:
Senator Stedman would replace Senator Wagoner as chair
of the Senate Community and Regional Affairs Committee;
Senator Dyson would replace Senator Taylor on the
Senate Finance Committee; and
Senator Wagoner would co-chair the Senate
Transportation Committee with Senator Cowdery.
He noted that some changes were also made to the membership of
the Legislative Council but those changes are not a function of
the Committee on Committees.
SENATOR ELLIS asked what changes were made.
SENATOR BEN STEVENS said that Senator Gary Stevens became a
member of the Legislative Council.
CHAIR THERRIAULT noted that Senator Tom Wagoner replaced Senator
Dyson as a member of the Legislative Council. Senator Dyson was
removed because of his busier duties as chair of the Senate HESS
Committee and his seat on the Senate Finance Committee. Senator
Gary Stevens filled Senator Taylor's vacant seat.
SENATOR BEN STEVENS moved to adopt the Committee on Committees
report dated January 12, 2004.
CHAIR THERRIAULT announced that without objection, the Committee
on Committees report would be reported to the full Senate. With
no further business to come before the committee, he adjourned
the meeting at 11:32 a.m.
