CHAIR McGuire called the Conference Committee on HB 18 to order
at 9:05 p.m. Representatives McGuire, Gruenberg, Meyers, and
Senators Dyson and Seekins were present at the call to order.
HB 18-PARENTAL LIABILITY FOR CHILD'S DAMAGE

CHAIR McGUIRE announced that the only order of business would be
HOUSE BILL NO. 18, "An Act relating to the liability of parents
and legal guardians of minors who destroy property." [Before
the committee were CSHB 18(JUD) am and SCS CSHB 18(HES).]
CHAIR McGUIRE indicated that the committee would take up SCS
CSHB 18(HES).

SENATOR DYSON moved to adopt Conceptual Amendment 1 to SCS CSHB
18(HES), which reads as follows [original punctuation provided]:

2 Delete "25,000"
3 Insert "15,000"

6 After "However,"
7 Insert "if either or both parents have insurance
that would compensate the
8 claimant for civil damages awarded against either
or both parents, either or

There being no objection, Conceptual Amendment 1 was adopted.
