CALL TO ORDER
Representative Alan Austerman, Vice Chair, convened the House
Special Committee on World Trade and State/Federal Relations
meeting at 4:04 p.m.; Chair Barnes was ill that day.
PRESENT
Committee members present at the call to order were Representatives
Austerman, Cowdery and Kott. Representatives Phillips, Nicholia
and Ryan arrived as the meeting was in progress. Also present was
Representative Elton.
SUMMARY OF INFORMATION
WILSON CONDON, Commissioner, Department of Revenue, made
preliminary remarks regarding work on the gas line project, and he
spoke briefly about the roles and helpfulness of the foreign trade
offices in that effort.
DEBBY SEDWICK, Assistant Commissioner, Division of Trade and
Development, Department of Commerce and Economic Development,
presented introduction regarding their overseas representatives.
KOJIRO ABE, State of Alaska Trade Representative in Tokyo, gave
energy presentation on Japanese market (hard copy available in
committee file).
MARIKO KURODA, energy specialist, assisted Mr. Abe with
presentation regarding Japan's market.
K.S. YANG, State of Alaska Trade Representative in Korea, gave
energy presentation on Korea's market (hard copy available in
committee file).
IDA YAO, State of Alaska Trade Representative in Taiwan, gave
energy presentation on Taiwan's market (hard copy available in
committee file).
COMMITTEE ACTION
The committee took no action.
ADJOURNMENT
The meeting was adjourned at 5:10 p.m.
