 Representative Masek, Vice Chairman, convened the House                       
 Transportation Standing Committee meeting at 1:10 p.m.

 Committee members present at the call to order were Representatives           
 Masek, Kookesh, Sanders and Elton.  Representative(s)                         
 Cowdery arrived as the meeting was in progress.                               
                                                                               
 SUMMARY OF INFORMATION                                                        
                                                                               
 JOE PERKINS, Commissioner, Office of the Commissioner, Department             
 of Transportation and Public Facilities, presented an overview of             
 the Department of Transportation and Public Facilities and answered           
 questions on his overview.                                                    
                                                                               
 THOMAS BRIGHAM, Director, Division of Statewide Planning,                     
 Department of Transportation and Public Facilities, answered                  
 questions on the statewide planning and funding of the department.            
                                                                               
 GARY HAYDEN, Systems Director, Marine Highway System, Department of           
 Transportation and Public Facilities, discussed the issue of                  
 privatization of the Alaska Marine Highway and answered questions.
