REPRESENTATIVE  CHENAULT, Acting  Chair, called  the House  Rules                                                           
Standing   Committee    meeting   to    order   at    1:32   p.m.                                                               
Representatives   Herron   (via   teleconference),   Olson   (via                                                               
teleconference),  Millet,  Kerttula   (via  teleconference),  and                                                               
Gardner (via teleconference)  were present at the  call to order.                                                               
Representative  Gardner  (via   teleconference)  arrived  as  the

REPRESENTATIVE CHENAULT,  Acting Chair,  announced that  the only                                                               
order  of business  would be  ITB  526, approval  of ceiling  and                                                               
lighting  replacement  in  the  House  Rules  Standing  Committee                                                               
office to be  awarded to Northern Pacific Erectors,  Inc., in the                                                               
amount of $40,171.000.

DON   JOHNSTON,   Building  Manager,   Maintenance,   Legislative                                                               
Administrative  Services,  Legislative Affairs  Agency,  informed                                                               
the committee  that this project is  similar to what was  done in                                                               
the Speaker's  and the  Majority Leader's  offices.   The project                                                               
would include  the installation of  a new ceiling grid  with cast                                                               
plaster ceiling  tiles in  the staff  area as  well as  a ceiling                                                               
grid with cast  plaster and decorative tiles  in the legislators'                                                               
office  along with  some recessed  lighting and  pendant lighting                                                               
fixtures.  The  project will also include  changing any sprinkler                                                               
heads for which it's deemed necessary.

REPRESENTATIVE GARDNER inquired as to  why this project is before                                                               
the House Rules Standing Committee for approval.                                                                                
                                                                                                                                
REPRESENTATIVE  CHENAULT  explained  that  this  project  can  go                                                               
through  the House  Rules Standing  Committee or  the Legislative                                                               
Council.   The House  Rules Standing  Committee route  was chosen                                                               
because it was unclear when  the next Legislative Council meeting                                                               
will  occur.   The  desire  by  Maintenance  is to  complete  the

REPRESENTATIVE  MILLET  moved to  approve  ITB  526, ceiling  and                                                               
lighting  replacement  in  the  House  Rules  Standing  Committee
