 CHAIRMAN PETE KOTT called the House Rules Standing Committee to               
 order at 5:59 p.m.  Members present at the call to order were                 
 Representatives Kott, Nicholia and Elton.                                     
                                                                               
 CHAIRMAN KOTT:  I have informed all the members that due to                   
 unforeseen circumstances, Representative Sanders is not able to               
 testify this evening due to illness.  He is bedridden, on                     
 medication.  So it is the intent of the Chair to go into recess               
 this evening at the call of the Chair and, hopefully, tomorrow                
 evening at 6:00 p.m. we will be able to resume the ethics hearings            
 on Representative Sanders.  Are there any question from members               
 present?  If not, we are in recess.                                           
                                                                               
 The House Rules Committee went into recess at 6:00 p.m. to the call           
 of the Chair.
