CO-CHAIRMAN SCOTT OGAN called the House Resources Standing
Committee meeting to order at 12:32 p.m. Members present at the
call to order were Representatives Ogan, Masek, Barnes, Dyson,
Green, and Williams.
CSSB 180(FIN) - STATE RIGHTS-OF-WAY: RS 2477
CO-CHAIRMAN OGAN announced the first order of business was CSSB
180(FIN), "An Act relating to state rights-of-way."
REPRESENTATIVE RAMONA BARNES made a motion to move CSSB 180(FIN)
from the committee with individual recommendations and attached
fiscal note(s).
REPRESENTATIVE FRED DYSON objected for discussion purposes. He
supports the legislation because access is a huge problem for the
people of Alaska. However, he is concerned about government taking
land, the width of the rights-of-way, and the devaluation of
private property because of access. He will recommend to the
sponsor a possible amendment. He removed his objection.
CO-CHAIRMAN OGAN asked whether there is any further objection.
There being no further objection, CSSB 180(FIN) was so moved from
the House Resources Standing Committee.
CSSB 250 am - MANAGEMENT OF GAME
CO-CHAIRMAN OGAN announced the next order of business was CSSB
250(FIN) am, "An Act relating to management of game, to the fish
and game fund and federal aid for restoration of wildlife and fish,
and to the duties of the commissioner of fish and game."
REPRESENTATIVE BARNES made a motion and asked unanimous consent to
move CSSB 250(FIN) am from the committee with individual
recommendations and the attached fiscal note(s). There being no
objection, CSSB 250(FIN) am was so moved from the House Resources
Standing Committee.
CO-CHAIRMAN OGAN called for an at ease until 1:00 p.m. for an
overview.
