Legislative Ombudsman Selection
1:03:32 PM
CO-CHAIR HAWKER announced that the only order of business would
be [the selection of the legislative Ombudsman]. He then noted
that personnel matters are to be kept confidential, and
therefore the committee would be moving into executive session.
1:04:07 PM
CO-CHAIR McGUIRE made a motion to move to executive session
under Uniform Rule 22 for the purpose of discussing personnel
matters. There being no objection, the committee went into
executive session at 1:04 p.m.
CO-CHAIR HAWKER brought the committee back to order at
1:18 p.m., and observed that all members were present.
1:18:32 PM
CO-CHAIR McGUIRE made a motion that the committee forward to the
legislature for confirmation the nomination of Linda Lord-
Jenkins for a third term as Ombudsman.
CO-CHAIR MCGUIRE reminded members that signing reports regarding
appointments in no way reflects individual members' approval or
disapproval of appointees, and that the nominations are merely
forwarded to the full legislature for confirmation or rejection.
CO-CHAIR HAWKER, after ascertaining that there were no
objections, announced that the motion carried, and reminded
members to sign the committee report.
1:19:38 PM
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business before the committee, the
Ombudsman Selection Committee meeting was adjourned at 1:19 p.m.
