CALL TO ORDER
REPRESENTATIVE JIM WHITAKER, Chairman, convened the House
Special Committee on Oil and Gas at 10:02am.
PRESENT
Committee members present at the call to order were
Representatives Whitaker, Porter, Harris, Dyson, Smalley, and
Kemplen. Representative Brice arrived as the meeting was in
progress. Representatives Phillips and Ogan were excused.
OTHER MEMBERS PRESENT
Representative Joe Green
SUMMARY OF INFORMATION
JOE LEONE, Vice President of Kuparuk for ARCO Alaska, Inc.,
presented information to the committee regarding the effect of
low oil prices on operations, goals and plans for the company,
and answered questions from committee members.
GERALD GALLAGHER, Government Relations Manager for ARCO
Alaska, answered questions from the committee.
GEORGE FINDLING, ARCO Alaska, answered questions from the
committee regarding ARCO's role in the Alaska North Slope LNG
project. Mr. Findling noted he would be available to answer
questions on this topic during the Oil and Gas meeting
scheduled for February 23, 1999.

The committee took no action
ADJOURNMENT
REPRESENTATIVE WHITAKER adjourned the meeting at 11:31am.
