HOUSE LABOR AND COMMERCE COMMITTEE Anchorage, Alaska December 20, 2000 11:38 a.m. COMMITTEE CALENDAR WORK SESSION ON HOME INSPECTOR LEGISLATION TAPES 00-52, SIDES A & B 00-53, SIDE A CALL TO ORDER REPRESENTATIVE NORMAN ROKEBERG, Chairman, convened the House Labor & Commerce Committee meeting at 11:38 a.m. He explained that the purpose of the meeting was to consider a new work draft on the home inspector licensing legislation 22-LS0136/A, Lauterbach, 12/1/00. PRESENT Committee members present were at the call to order were Representatives Rokeberg and Harris. Representative Cissna and Representative-Elect Meyer were also in attendance. SUMMARY OF INFORMATION The following people participated in the discussion: JANET SEITZ, Staff to House Labor & Commerce Standing Committee JOHN BITNEY, Legislative Liaison, Alaska Housing Finance Corporation BILL BRADY, President, Alaska Association of Realtors TIM HOYT, Home Inspector WILLIAM BRUU, International Conference of Building Officials ROBIN WARD, Alaska Mortgage Bankers Association ROBERT CARL, Home Inspector CAROL PERKINS RON JOHNSON, Real Estate Broker RICK JARVIS, Re/Max CLAI PORTER, Business Analysis, Inc. DAN HAWKINS, Home Inspector BOB COWEN, Engineer Those present discussed the work draft of legislation concerning licensing of home inspectors and offered comments concerning various aspects of the draft legislation.
