  The first meeting of the House Labor and Commerce Committee                  
  was called to order at 1:34 p.m.                                             
                                                                               
  CHAIRMAN BILL HUDSON gave an overview of the goals,                          
  procedures and etiquette of the committee.  He opened the                    
  meeting to the members of the committee for general                          
  discussion.  Each member had the opportunity to voice their                  
  individual ideas and goals for the committee, including some                 
  specific suggestions for the committee's consideration.
