CALL TO ORDER
REPRESENTATIVE NORMAN ROKEBERG, Chair, House Judiciary Standing
Committee, called the joint meeting of the House Judiciary
Standing Committee and the House State Affairs Standing
Committee to order at 1:10 p.m.
PRESENT
Committee members present were Representatives Rokeberg, James,
Ogan, Coghill, Meyer, Fate, Stevens, Berkowitz, Kookesh,
Crawford, and Hayes.
SUMMARY OF INFORMATION
The following people provided an overview of the state election
law and answered questions regarding the Primary Election Task
Force:
LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR FRAN ULMER
JANET KOWALSKI, Director, Division of Elections, Office of the
Lieutenant Governor
GAIL FENUMIAI, Election Program Specialist, Division of
Elections, Office of the Lieutenant Governor
Handouts included an excerpt from the Anchorage Daily News,
informational pages from the Division of Elections' web site,
and the United States Supreme Court opinion on California
Democratic Party v. Jones.
