REPRESENTATIVE FRED DYSON, Chair, convened the House Health,
Education and Social Services Standing Committee meeting at 3:07
p.m.
PRESENT
Committee members present were Representatives Dyson, Wilson,
Coghill, Stevens, Kohring, Cissna, and Joule.
SUMMARY OF INFORMATION
DR. PETER LAWRASON, President, Alaska State Medical Association,
presented an overview of the Division of Medical Assistance and
introduced Dr. Palmisano.
DR. DONALD PALMISANO, President, American Medical Association,
presented an overview of the Medicaid program and HR 1304, the
Campbell Antitrust Bill.
MARK JOHNSON, Chief, Community Health and Emergency Medical
Services, Division of Public Health, Department of Health and
Social Services, presented an overview on community health and
emergency medical services.
DR. BOB LABBE, Director, Division of Medical Assistance,
Department of Health and Social Services presented an overview
of medical assistance needs and Alaska and how the division is
attempting to meet those needs.
