CALL TO ORDER
CHAIRMAN FRED DYSON called the House Health, Education and Social
Services Standing Committee meeting to order at 3:02 p.m.
PRESENT
Committee members present were Representatives Dyson, Morgan,
Brice, Kemplen and Coghill.
SUMMARY OF INFORMATION
JAN MCGILLIVARY, Executive Director, Alaska Mental Health
Association and organizer of the Bridges Campaign, introduced Pete
Braveman of Fairbanks, Beth LaCross of Ketchikan, Patricia Ogino of
North Pole, Scot Wheat of Homer, John Yates of McGrath, and Ann
Shilo of Soldotna. These people thanked the Health, Education and
Social Services Committee Members for their support on mental
health issues. They individually shared their particular situation
and ties to state of Alaska mental health programs and answered
questions from the committee members.
COMMITTEE ACTION
The committee took no action
CHAIRMAN DYSON called for an at-ease at 3:28 p.m. in order to hear
HB 353, HB 427 and Confirmation Hearings. [The minutes for HB 353,
HB 427 and Confirmation Hearings are found in the 3:30 p.m. minutes
for the same date.]
