REPRESENTATIVE FRED DYSON, Chairman, convened the House Health,
Education and Social Services Standing Committee at 3:02 p.m.
PRESENT
Committee members present were Representatives Dyson, Whitaker,
Green, Morgan, Brice, Kemplen and Coghill.
SUMMARY OF INFORMATION
MARJORIE HAYS, Commissioner, Alaska Commission on Aging,
presented a report from the Alaska Commission on Aging which
talked about the continuum of care for elders to stay in their
homes and communities as long as possible.
JANE DEMMERT, Executive Director, Alaska Commission on Aging
(ACOA), also presented a report on the needs of the elderly in
Alaska. She went over the handout from the ACOA and answered
questions from committee members.
ALISON ELGEE, Deputy Commissioner, Department of Administration,
answered questions from the committee.
COMMITTEE ACTION
The committee took no action
CHAIRMAN DYSON called for an at-ease at 3:36 p.m. in order to
hear HB 302, HB 298 and HB 322. [The minutes for HB 302, HB 298
and HB 322 are found in the 3:36 p.m. minutes for the same date.]
