CALL TO ORDER
CO-CHAIRMAN DYSON called the House Health, Education and Social
Services Standing Committee meeting to order at 3:15 p.m.
PRESENT
Members present were Representatives Dyson, Green, Brice and
Kemplen.
SUMMARY OF INFORMATION
ROBERT POE, Commissioner, Department of Administration, reported
on Alaska's vulnerability to transportation/supply disruptions
resulting from Y2K problems, plans for further investigation, and
plans for preparation:
DAVID LIEBERSBACH, Director, Division of Emergency Services,
Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, also reported on

REPRESENTATIVE GARY DAVIS reported findings of the Mental Health
Parity Task Force.
WALTER MAJOROS, Executive Director, Alaska Mental Health Board,
Office of the Commissioner, Department of Health and Social
Services, reported findings of the Mental Health Parity Task
Force.
STEVE HAMILTON, C and S Management Association, reported findings
of the Mental Health Parity Task Force.
DEBRA GERRISH testified on the Mental Health Parity Task Force
Report.
KATSUMI KENASTON, testified, via teleconference from Anchorage,
on the Mental Health Parity Task Force Report.
MARIANNE BURKE, Director, Division of Insurance, Department of
Commerce and Economic Development, commented on managed care.
