Representative Con Bunde, Chairman, convened the House Health,                 
Education and Social Services Standing Committee meeting at

Committee members present at the call to order were Representatives            
Bunde, Vezey, Porter and Brice.  Representatives Kemplen, Dyson and            
Green arrived as the meeting was in progress.                                  
                                                                               
SUMMARY OF INFORMATION                                                         
                                                                               
JOHN JENSEN, Ph.D., presented an overview on Education Guaranteed,             
focusing his remarks on three issues:  1)  What went wrong with                
education; 2) what's needed to correct it, and 3) what legislative             
initiative is an appropriate starting point.
