Co-Chair Stoltze called the House Finance Committee meeting
to order at 9:49 a.m.

CSHB 225(FIN) was REPORTED out of Committee
with a "do pass" recommendation with new
zero fiscal notes from the Department of
Administration and the Department of
Commerce.

HOUSE BILL NO. 225
"An Act relating to the State Procurement Code;
relating to the procurement of supplies, services,
professional services, construction services, state
fisheries products, state agricultural products, state
timber, and state lumber; relating to procurement
preferences; relating to procurement by the office of
the ombudsman, the Alaska Industrial Development and
Export Authority, the Alaska Energy Authority, and
other state agencies and public corporations; and
providing for an effective date."
Co-Chair Stoltze brought the meeting to order and presented
the bill agenda.

Representative Austerman commented that he supported the
bill and appreciated the information provided by Vern
Jones.

Representative Fairclough summarized that she has attempted
to answer all questions brought before the committee has
personally met with each finance committee legislator to
answer any further questions. She supported the document
that has been provided and appreciated the bill being moved
to the floor. She stressed that this bill is the right
thing to do. The bill can save the state money and
streamline some processes to make the procurement process
easier to understand.
Co-Chair Stoltze noted the two new zero fiscal notes.

Representative Fairclough MOVED to REPORT CSHB 225(FIN) out
of Committee with individual recommendations and the
accompanying new fiscal notes. There being NO OBJECTION, it
was so ordered.
CSHB 225(FIN) was REPORTED out of Committee with a "do
pass" recommendation with new zero fiscal notes from the
Department of Administration and the Department of
Commerce.
Representative Doogan applauded Representative Fairclough,
the bill's sponsor on her professionalism and patience.
