CHAIR GEORGE RAUSCHER called the House Special Committee on
Energy meeting to order at 10:17 a.m. Representatives Rauscher,
McKay, and Schrage were present at the call to order.
Representative Patkotak arrived as the meeting was in progress.

CHAIR RAUSCHER announced that the only order of business would
be Committee Introductions.

REPRESENTATIVE MCKAY introduced himself as the Representative of
District 15 in Anchorage, Alaska. He stated that he had a 40-
year career as a petroleum engineer.

REPRESENTATIVE SCHRAGE introduced himself as the Representative
of District 12 in Anchorage, Alaska. He stated that he is
interested in policies that would help lower energy costs for
people and businesses in the state of Alaska.

CHAIR RAUSCHER introduced himself as the Representative of
District 29 in Sutton, Alaska. He stated that he has been
serving as a member of the House Special Committee on Energy for
six years.

REPRESENTATIVE PATKOTAK introduced himself as the Representative
of District 40 in the North Slope Borough. He stated that his
goal is to achieve lower energy costs for rural Alaska.

CHAIR RAUSCHER stated that there is a vacancy on the committee
that will soon be filled.
