VICE CHAIR ANNA MACKINNON called the Legislative Budget and
Audit Committee meeting to order at 3:05 p.m. Senators
MacKinnon, Stedman, and Bishop (via teleconference), and
Representatives Kito, Thompson, Pruitt, and Hawker (via
teleconference) were present at the call to order. Also in
attendance were Senator Gardner and Representatives Josephson
and Reinbold.

VICE CHAIR MACKINNON announced that the first order of business
would be approval of the minutes.

REPRESENTATIVE PRUITT made a motion to approve the minutes of
the Legislative Budget and Audit Committee meeting of December
13, 2016. There being no objection, the minutes from the
meeting of December 13, 2016 were approved.

VICE CHAIR MACKINNON announced that the next order of business
would be to move into executive session.

REPRESENTATIVE PRUITT made a motion that the Legislative Budget
and Audit Committee enter into executive session under Uniform
Rule 22(b)(3) and AS 24.20.301 for the purpose of discussing
confidential audit and performance review reports. There being
no objection, the committee went into executive session at 3:07
p.m.

3:07 p.m. to 3:47 p.m.

VICE CHAIR MACKINNON brought the committee back to order.
Senators MacKinnon, Stedman, and Bishop (via teleconference),
and Representatives Kito, Thompson, Pruitt, and Hawker (via
teleconference) were present at the call back to order.

REPRESENTATIVE PRUITT made a motion for the final audits for the
Department of Health and Social Services - Alaska Health Care
Commission (sunset) and Department of Public Safety - Alaska
Scientific Crime Detection Laboratory Select Issues to be
released to the public for response. There being no objection,
the motion was approved.

VICE CHAIR MACKINNON announced that the final order of business
was for other committee business. She noted that there was not
any other business to discuss.

VICE CHAIR MACKINNON thanked Representative Hawker for his 14
years of service and, on behalf of the State of Alaska,
expressed appreciation for his dedication and his participation,
as well as chairmanship, on the committee. She lauded his
professional manner during his years on the committee and his
desire to have "conversations front and center that are very
difficult."

REPRESENTATIVE HAWKER expressed his gratitude and stated his
regard for his staff "who have really been the ones that have
helped accomplish all the good we've done over the many years.
You can never underestimate the people behind the scenes."

VICE CHAIR MACKINNON announced that the committee chairmanship
would be changed over to Senator Gary Stevens at the next
committee meeting.

ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business before the committee, the
Legislative Budget and Audit Committee meeting was adjourned at
3:49 p.m.
