 CHAIRMAN LEMAN brings up SB 242 (HOURS FOR STATE OFFICES) as the              
 next order of business before the State Affairs Committee.

 SENATOR TAYLOR asks Mr. McMullen of the Department of                         
 Administration to make a statement.

 MIKE MCMULLEN, Division of Personnel, Department of Administration            
 (DOA), states the department supports SB 242, but would prefer to             
 see the provisions in SB 242 implemented by regulation, not by law.           
 DOA is concerned there would be expectations from the public that             
 there would be increased services provided by the state, under SB

 SENATOR TAYLOR states he is in complete agreement with DOA, and so            
 he recommends the bill be advanced to the Rules Committee and be

 on SB 242.  Hearing none, he asks what the pleasure of the
