Chair  Hoffman  announced   that  the  Conference  Committee                                                                    
operated  under Uniform  Rule 42.  He  announced that  there                                                                    
would be no public testimony.  He remarked that the adoption                                                                    
of the  conference committee report required  an affirmative                                                                    
vote  by a  majority of  the membership  from each  body. He                                                                    
announced that the  two versions of the  bill, CSSB 196(FIN)                                                                    
version  U;  and  HCS  CSSB  196(FIN)  version  R  would  be                                                                    
considered in the meeting.                                                                                                      
                                                                                                                                
Senator MacKinnon MOVED  to ADOPT the Senate  version of the                                                                    
bill, version U.
