REPRESENTATIVE FRED DYSON, Chair, convened the House Health,
Education and Social Services Standing Committee at 3:00 p.m.
PRESENT
Committee members present were Representatives Dyson, Coghill,
Cissna, Stevens, and Joule.
SUMMARY OF INFORMATION
DARRELL HARGRAVES, Alaska Council of School Administrators, was
the spokesperson for the Alaska Council of School Administrators
and introduced the presenters.
WESLEY KNAPP, Superintendent, Aleutians East Borough School
District, gave a presentation regarding teacher retention and
recruitment.
BETTY WALTERS, Alaska Council Of School Administrators. gave a
presentation concerning the exit exam.
STEVEN CATHERS, Superintendent, Valdez City School District,
addressed funding issues.
