SB 76-TUITION FOR CERTAIN CHILDREN
CHAIR DAVIS announced SB 76 to be up for consideration.
1:46:23 PM
SENATOR ELLIS, sponsor of SB 76, said that the bill will allow
the private sector to open education funding accounts for
children in foster care. This structure is needed to show the
community how to aid foster youth. He added that there is no
known opposition to the bill, and mentioned that a committee
substitute was before the committee that needed to be adopted.
1:48:43 PM
SENATOR ELTON moved to adopt the proposed committee substitute
to SB 76, labeled 25-LS0443/C, Version C, as the working
document of the committee. There being no objection, the motion
carried.
SENATOR DYSON moved to pass CSSB 76(HES) from committee with
individual recommendations and accompanying fiscal notes. There
being no objection, it was so ordered.
