            SB  10-EXTENDED BOARD OF PUBLIC ACCOUNTANCY                                                                     
                                                                                                                                
CHAIR PEARCE announced that SB 10 was before the committee.                                                                     
                                                                                                                                
SENATOR  THERRIAULT,   sponsor  of   SB  10,  explained   that  this                                                            
legislation was introduced  at the recommendation of the Division of                                                            
Legislative  Budget  and Audit.    It extends  the Board  of  Public                                                            
Accountancy  for the standard four  years.  Although this  board has                                                            
been  extended  for  a  longer  period  of time  in  the  past,  the                                                            
Legislature  prefers  the four  year extension.    He believes  that                                                            
boards with  certain powers to restrict  or oversee people  involved                                                            
in economic activity  should be reviewed more frequently.   He noted                                                            
that committee members' packets contain letters of support.                                                                     
                                                                                                                                
SENATOR  PHILLIPS  moved   to  calendar  SB  10.    There  being  no                                                            
objection,  CHAIR PEARCE announced  that SB 10 would be calendared.                                                             
She then adjourned the meeting at 11:22 a.m.
