HJR 26-STATEHOOD/ANCSA LAND SURVEY FUNDING 3:40:01 PM CO-CHAIR WIELECHOWSKI announced HJR 26 to be up for consideration. [HJR 26 was amended during the 4/8/10 hearing.] 3:40:23 PM CRYSTAL KOENEMAN, staff to Representative Fairclough, said a question had been asked yesterday about the land patents and she explained that they establish "on-the-ground" certainty to the land title because they require a land survey. The land survey requires the property to be located and marked on the ground and the patent is the document that confirms that the state or ANCS or the state owns that specific piece of property. SENATOR FRENCH moved to report HJR 26 from committee with individual recommendations and attached fiscal note(s). There were no objections and it was so ordered.
