HCR 11-PARENTS' DAY
1:36:12 PM
REPRESENTATIVE SHARON CISSNA introduced HCR 11 by saying: this
bill sets aside July 24, 2005 as Parent's Day. The reason for
doing this is that this is a national effort and a national day
to celebrate parents. The process for a number of years has been
that there is a group of faith-based community advocates for
parenting that have picked a parent of the year and a runner up
after which there is a large picnic and lots of celebration. The
committee would like to make it a much larger effort to get
parents across the state recognized and highlight the wonderful
place that parents play in our society.
SENATOR WILKEN offered to co-sponsor the bill.
SEANTOR WILKEN moved HCR 11 out of committee with attached
recommendations and no fiscal notes. Hearing no objections, the
motion carried.
