HOUSE BILL NO. 373                                                                                                            
                                                                                                                                
     "An Act extending specified public school bond debt                                                                        
     reimbursement; and providing for an effective date."                                                                       
                                                                                                                                
Co-Chair  Stedman reminded  the Committee  that this  was the                                                                   
third  hearing  of  the  bill.   He  reviewed  the  committee                                                                   
substitute   Version  E   that  extended   the  school   bond                                                                   
reimbursement program  for one year instead of  two years and                                                                   
that  it  amended  the  full  value  of  ADM  for  the  major                                                                   
maintenance grant fund program.

Co-Chair Stedman  remarked that the  intent was to  bring the                                                                   
bill back to the table and adopt a conceptual amendment.                                                                        
                                                                                                                                
Co-Chair  Stedman MOVED  to ADOPT a  Conceptual Amendment  on                                                                   
page, 7, line 4, to delete 2009  and insert 2010. There being                                                                   
NO OBJECTION, the conceptual amendment was adopted.

MIKE PAWLOWSKI,  STAFF, REPRESENTATIVE  KEVIN MEYER,  pointed                                                                   
out that  an additional  conceptual amendment  was needed  on                                                                   
page 6, line 27 to delete 2009 and insert 2010.

6, line  27 to delete  2009 and insert  2010. There  being NO                                                                   
OBJECTION, it was so ordered.                                                                                                   
                                                                                                                                
Senator  Olson  inquired if  the  North Slope  Borough  could

EDDY JEANS, DIRECTOR, EDUCATION  SUPPORT SERVICES, DEPARTMENT                                                                   
OF EDUCATION  AND EARLY  DEVELOPMENT reported  that the  debt                                                                   
reimbursement program  is open  to any municipality  that has                                                                   
the capacity to bond.                                                                                                           
                                                                                                                                
Senator  Huggins MOVED  to REPORT  SCS  HB 273  (FIN) out  of                                                                   
Committee  with individual  recommendations and  accompanying                                                                   
fiscal note.                                                                                                                    
                                                                                                                                
SCS CSHB 373 (FIN)  was REPORTED out of Committee  with a "do                                                                   
pass"   recommendation   and   an   accompanying   previously                                                                   
published fiscal  note from the  Department of  Education and
