  CS FOR HOUSE BILL NO. 354(FIN)(title am)                                     
                                                                               
       An Act relating  to a retirement incentive  program for                 
       certain  employees  of   school  districts  under   the                 
       teachers'  retirement  system  and  under  the   public                 
       employees'  retirement  system;  and providing  for  an                 
       effective date.                                                         
                                                                               
  Co-chairman  Halford directed that  CSHB 354 (FIN)(title am)                 
  be  brought  on for  discussion  and advised  that  the bill                 
  contains  a retirement  incentive  program for  teachers and                 
  school  district  employees.     Senator  Sharp  voiced  his                 
  understanding that the program would  be optional for school                 
  districts.   Senator Zharoff MOVED  for passage of  CSHB 354                 
  (Fin)  (title  am)  with  individual  recommendations.    No                 
  objection having been  raised, CSHB 354 (FIN)(title  am) was                 
  REPORTED OUT of committee with a $316.1 fiscal note from the                 
  Dept. of  Administration.  Co-chairman  Halford and  Senator                 
  Zharoff  signed  the  committee  report  with  a  "do  pass"                 
  recommendation.   Co-chairman  Frank  and  Senators  Donley,                 
  Phillips, Rieger, and Sharp signed "no recommendation."
