CHAIR FRENCH announced the consideration of HB 319. It was heard
previously. [CSHB 319(FIN) was before the committee.
REPRESENTATIVE HAWKER, sponsor of HB 319, was available to
answer questions.
CHAIR FRENCH noted that there had been a question about the
likelihood of an ethics complaint as a result of a failure to
complete the requirements set forth in statute. The answer was
"a firm and resounding no," which satisfies me, he said.

SENATOR MCGUIRE moved to report HB 319 from committee with
individual recommendations and attached fiscal note(s). There
being no objection, CSHB 319(FIN) moved from the Senate
Judiciary Standing Committee.
REPRESENTATIVE HAWKER stated that it's been a pleasure working
with Cindy Smith, judiciary committee aide, on the bill. She
"has been most incredibly responsive and of great assistance to
us," he said.
