       HB 159-PERS PEACE OFFR STATUS CORRECTION EMPLOYEE                                                                        
                                                                                                                                
CHAIRMAN KELLY noted a proposed SCS CSHB 159(RLS) had been prepared                                                             
and, although he did not plan to calendar the bill right away, he                                                               
would like to adopt the new committee substitute (Version H).  He                                                               
explained that Version H specifies that a management position                                                                   
includes division directors, deputy directors, and assistant                                                                    
directors but that those employees cannot make the switch unless                                                                
they have had at least five years of service as an actual                                                                       
Corrections official.                                                                                                           
                                                                                                                                
SENATOR MILLER moved to adopt Version H as the Senate Rules                                                                     
Committee substitute.  There being no objection, the motion                                                                     
carried.                                                                                                                        
                                                                                                                                
SENATOR LEMAN moved to calendar, at the Chairman's discretion, all                                                              
Senate versions of HB 159 with individual recommendations and                                                                   
accompanying fiscal notes.  There being no objection, the motion                                                                
carried.
