HB 121-OCC. HEALTH AND SAFETY CIVIL PENALTIES 3:19:34 PM CHAIR KITO announced that the first order of business would be HOUSE BILL NO. 121, "An Act relating to occupational safety and health enforcement penalties; and providing for an effective date." CHAIR KITO stated that HB 121 would bring Alaska into compliance with federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) laws and would allow the department to promulgate regulations as needed to meet federal requirements. Without meeting the requirements, Alaska would risk losing the Alaska Occupational Safety and Health (AKOSH) office. 3:20:41 PM CHAIR KITO, after ascertaining that there was no one who wished to testify, closed public testimony on HB 121. 3:21:01 PM REPRESENTATIVE WOOL moved to report HB 121 out of committee with individual recommendations and the accompanying fiscal notes. There being no objection, HB 121 was moved from the House Labor and Commerce Standing Committee.
