HB 114-USE STATE TRANS FACILITY FOR DISASTER AID
1:01:14 PM
CHAIR KOOKESH announced the consideration of HB 114. [CSHB
114(JUD) am was before the committee.]
SENATOR PASKVAN withdrew the motion to strike subsection (b),
which he made during the 2/4/10 hearing. He moved to adopt the
Senate Transportation CS for CSHB 114, labeled 26-LS0505\W, as
the working document. There being no objection, version W was
before the committee.
1:02:01 PM
SENATOR DAVIS joined the committee.
JANE PIERSON, Staff to Representative Jay Ramras, thanked the
committee for the work it did on the bill. It was never the
sponsor's intention to give state equipment to a nonprofit to
use, she said. The intention was always for a state employee to
operate state equipment.
CHAIR KOOKESH stated for the record that the committee directed
the sponsor to work with Senator Paskvan to resolve the
differences.
SENATOR PASKVAN said he is satisfied and believes that it's
appropriate for the bill to move forward.
GAIL VOIGTLANDER, Assistant Attorney General, Civil Division,
Department of Law (DOL), offered to answer questions about how
the changes came about.
CHAIR KOOKESH found no questions and closed public testimony. He
asked the will of the committee.
1:04:32 PM
SENATOR PASKVAN thanked the sponsor for working with his office.
SENATOR MENARD moved to report the Senate CS, 26-LS0505\W, [for
HB 114] from committee with individual recommendations and
attached fiscal note(s). There being no objection, SCS CSSB
114(TRA) moved from Senate Transportation Standing Committee.
At ease from 1:05 p.m. to 1:07 p.m.
