CSHB 54(FIN)-BAIL REVIEW/ CRIME VICTIMS CHAIR RALPH SEEKINS announced HB 54 to be up for consideration. 8:49:28 AM MR. DOUG WOLLIVER, administrative attorney, Alaska Court System, advised the committee many of the items in HB 54 were currently being adopted in Anchorage. He does not anticipate a flood of petitions from people contesting sentences. 8:51:47 AM MS. SARA NIELSEN, staff to Representative Ralph Samuels, offered to answer questions. CHAIR SEEKINS asked for amendments or comments from committee members. SENATOR CHARLIE HUGGINS moved CSHB 54(FIN) from committee with individual recommendations and attached fiscal note(s).
